About VSN
What is Veteran Savings Network?
We're a licensed insurance agency built by veterans, for veterans. We help veterans and their spouses understand their Medicare options and how those options work alongside VA and TRICARE benefits. Our founder, Glenn Howard, is a retired combat veteran.
Who founded Veteran Savings Network?
Glenn Howard — a retired combat veteran of the Marine Corps with VA and TRICARE benefits. He built VSN after watching too many veterans get the wrong answers about Medicare at the worst possible time.
Who do you help?
Veterans turning 65, veterans already on Medicare with questions, and veteran spouses navigating their own coverage. If you've got VA, TRICARE, or CHAMPVA in the picture, that's exactly what we specialize in.
What states do you serve?
We're licensed in 48 states. If you're not sure whether we cover yours, book a call and we'll tell you right away.
Cost & How We're Paid
Is it really free?
Yes. 100% free to veterans and their families. No consultation fee, no subscription, no obligation. You never pay us a dime.
Then how do you get paid?
The insurance carrier pays us a commission when an enrollment closes. That commission is already built into every plan's pricing whether you use an agent or not — so working with us costs you nothing extra, and gets you a licensed agent in your corner.
Is there any obligation?
None. Plenty of veterans call us just to understand what they have. You're never obligated to enroll in anything.
Trust & Legitimacy
Is Veteran Savings Network legitimate?

Do you send postcards or unsolicited mail?
No. We don't send postcards or unsolicited mail, and we don't cold-call. You reach us by booking a call, on your terms. If you got a postcard about a 'Veterans Savings Program' promising extra monthly money or free dental, that mailer is not from us.
Are you affiliated with the VA, Medicare, or the government?
No. Veteran Savings Network is a private, licensed insurance agency. We are not affiliated with the U.S. government, the VA, the federal Medicare program, or any government entity.
Are you the same as 'Veterans Advantage'?
No. Veteran Savings Network, LLC is not affiliated with any company named Veterans Advantage. Different name, different ownership, different company.
How do I verify your license?
Every VSN agent is licensed through their state Department of Insurance. You can verify any insurance agent's license through the NAIC national lookup at naic.org.
Medicare & Veteran Benefits
Do I need Medicare Part B if I already have VA benefits?
It depends on your situation. VA benefits and Medicare don't coordinate the way people assume, and in some cases skipping Part B can lead to a permanent late-enrollment penalty. This is exactly the kind of thing we help veterans think through — there's no one-size answer.
Does Medicare work with TRICARE?
For many retirees, TRICARE For Life works alongside Medicare — but the details depend on your specific status. We'll walk you through how yours fits together.
Will working with you make me drop my VA benefits?
No. We're not here to take anything away. We help you understand how your benefits work together so you can make the decision that fits your situation.
The Call
What happens on the call?
We listen first. We ask about your situation, then explain how your VA and/or TRICARE benefits interact with Medicare in plain language. Only then do we walk through options. No script. No pressure.
What should I have ready?
Your VA rating if you have one, your TRICARE status if it applies, your Medicare status, and the medications you take regularly. Don't worry if you don't have it all — we'll work through it together.
Do I have to enroll in anything?
No. Many veterans call just to get clarity. You decide what to do next — including nothing.
